Amazing Home With Impressive Green Roof, Singapore

Amazing home with impressive green roof, Singapore

It's not very often that I stumble upon an amazing home like this one. But when I do, I make sure you see it too. Today's piece of modern architecture I found is this interesting home designed by Guz Architects in Santosa Island in Singapore.

Santosa is very popular island resort with over 2 kilometre long beach, golf courses and many other beautiful parks. As you can imagine (or remember if you ever went there) island is full of greenery, vegetation and gardens. Imagine what regulations and rules one house needs to fulfill in order to get permission to be built there. But, instead of choosing the easy way, Guz Architects accepted the challenge and turned this into the opportunity to build one amazing home.

Sky Garden House offers 852 square meters of amazing living space. It is designed to fully blend with gorgeous nature around it. Definitely the most noticeable and most impressive feature on this amazing house is green roof. This is something you don't see very day. I believe I've posted only one house similar to this one and if I remember right, that was the Wall House, located in Singapore as well. Singapore really kicks ass when it comes to amazing modern homes. I strongly recommend to check them out here.

Going back to impressive Sky Garden House, I would also love to mention those brilliant curved stairs. You've probably seen this photo many times on the internet. Now you can see the rest of this house. Besides awesome stairs there is also very cool swimming pool glass wall facing the house and creating very unique atmosphere. All in all, very impressive and amazing home. What do you think?

Modern house surrounded by the green hills

For those who love to spend their days away from the noisy streets and car horns, here's one beautiful modern home in the nature. Ice House is designed by Minarc and built near Reykjavik in Iceland.

The house is built from eco friendly materials and designed with high level of sustainability focused on solar energy and natural ventilation. The whole design is minimal without too much of interrupting the nature.

Sustainable Micro House; Contemporary Way Of Living

Architects across the globe are constantly searching and discovering new possibilities of how to make our lives easier or how to adjust architecture to our lives and the time we live in. Modern architecture in 21st century is getting more and more focused on cooperating with nature, which was an inspiration for this innovative project.

Triple t or ttt transportable tourist tower is an innovative and sustainable project which was presented for the very first time to the public in EXPO 2010 Shanghai China, at the utterly restricted and important area reserved for the best urban practices of the world (UBPA).

Designed by José Pequeno, it was imagined as a transportable sustainable micro house which could contribute new direction to the contemporary way of living. Built as a small house, it definitely goes into the category of world's smallest house.

"ttt transportable tourist tower, which integrates energetic modular technologies, is an architectonic response to the new challenges of the global market, in which mobility, industrialization and multi-functionality are associated with the opportunities in the construction sector. This tower has 3 stories with a total height of 9m and provides 30 m2 of useful area. It is an autonomous and self-sufficient space, geared towards both a new concept of nature tourism - beaches, forests, vineyards or the countryside – and urban flexibility.

Designed to be transportable and with a reduced construction impact, it is suitable in natural environments where there are no pre-existing infrastructures. This self-sufficient micro-home, using timber as main material and spreading it as a final product, is a new concept of sustainable construction – a habitable design piece which merges with nature.

The presented product reinterprets, reinvents and recreates new horizons in the application of sustainable solutions, fused with traditional inspirations. That is the spirit of its impact. Its cultural support based on the constructive approach to nature and its renewable resources."

Luís Rebelo de Andrade in cooperation with Diogo Aguiar designed this lovely eco resort in the woods of Pedras Salgadas, Portugal. Seven modern houses with minimalist contemporary interiors are built among the trees carefully blending with surroundings.

All objects were prefabricated allowing fast and precise construction. Small wooden houses are placed on steel platforms not depending on hilly terrain. Interiors are painted white taking maximum of daylight down to the forest. Exterior facade is made of wooden planks pointing out on sustainability and blending with nature.

Eco resort is built in 2012.
